Break-Off is a standard arrowhead equipped with one or more break-offs at its end. This break-off system gives high flexibility for arrow tuning.

Tungsten is a brilliant white metal with high hardship, density and consistency. It is about three times as heavy as conventional stainless steel and is used for arrowheads to shift the weight even more into the arrow point. This gives the arrow tuning another advantage.
The deposit of tungsten on the surface of the earth is about 0.0001 g/t. Therefore tungsten is a very rare metal and accordingly very expensive.
Break-Off points conform the standard arrowheads for carbon arrows with the feature that it is possible to tune the weight.
The grooves for the glue, at the shaft of the head, are purposely low- shaped. This prevents the usage of too much glue. Wrong spread glue can cause imbalance.
Installation: After about 60 seconds the Break-Off point sticks perfectly together with the carbon shaft .Beforehand the carbon shaft has to be whet from the inside and cleaned with a solvent. 1-2 drops of Bond onto the shaft of the head and push in a rotating movement all the way until it is tight fastened.

The head has one or more break-offs at its end. These break-offs can be broken off at leisure to get the ideal arrowhead weight.
Special insertions at the break off area make sure that the tolerance of the weight, after breaking- off a part, is absolutely slight.
Tungsten points seems to have three advantages compared to normal points for X10's:
1. They are shorter (by about a centimeter): and hence result in the arrow having a lower side area.
2. They are heavier (by 10 grains): and hence result in a heavier arrow.
3. They seem less likely to bend (certainly compared to the standard points). The stainless steel points will bend simply because they are long compared to the tungsten points, but will bend less than the standard points. This also means that where with standard points you may need to replace them from time-to-time, tungsten points may last for several sets of arrows.
Point 3 is important from the point-of-view of longevity of your arrows. If a point bends it is quite likely that the carbon near the front will be damaged, and you may lose an arrow.
Points 1 and 2 ultimately mean that with tungsten points the arrow will drift less. By the calculation the drift is reduced by about 3% through the combination of less surface area and higher weight. Not a lot, but every bit counts.
Tungsten points are much easier to pull from a wooden target frame.

Well, wonder no more.
There’s a hardcore fraternity of turkey hunters and reloaders who have taken that next step, hand-loading TSS – Tungsten Super Shot – shotgun shells with incredible results. I’ll stop short of talking about the extended range these loads offer because I’m an old-school – maybe just plain old – turkey hunter who feels it’s a 40-yard game, or should be.
But the patterns and power these loads deliver is nothing short or amazing.
There’s a reason. TSS is the heaviest shot available today, weighing about 18 g/cc. Its hardness requires shotgunners to take extra precautions to ensure it doesn’t damage your gun or choke tube. But if loaded properly, there’s no problem.
Hand-loaders and turkey hunters are reporting devastating patterns to 40 yards and, if you insist, well beyond – even from 20 gauges and .410s. Because of its weight, you can use small shot sizes – 9 shot is commonly used – and send a deadly swarm of pellets downrange into that 10-inch circle gobbler getters typically use to gauge their pattern’s effectiveness.
That’s the good news. The bad news it’s expensive; most estimates from hunters who are loading TSS say over $7 a shell. At that price and given the relatively small market target, it’s highly unlikely you’ll see it on any shelves anytime soon.
Too, it could accurately be described as overkill. Let’s be honest: lead shotgun loads will kill turkeys. And with the variety of Hevi-Shot and other specialized turkey loads available, there are plenty of excellent options available on the market today.
But for the guy who wants to kick it up a notch, TSS has a core group of followers.
It’s all part of the advance in technology today, in turkey hunting and virtually everything in society. You don’t have to embrace it all, but it’s available. And some spring gobbler hunters who load their own shells are now dedicated followers of TSS.

is fairly low. In a hunting context, the product makes shotguns useful primarily for hunting birds and other small games.
Tungsten alloy shot properties:
Its benefits come from the fact that it is denser than any other shot material, including lead, steel or bismuth. To understand how the density factors into performance, let’s look at two spheres about the same size, a golf ball and a ping-pong ball. The golf ball is far denser and will fly farther and hit harder. Now reduce that size down to two single pellets, one steel and the other a tungsten alloy. Get the result. The tungsten will fly farther, hit harder and penetrate deeper. That means more birds, farther out, with fewer cripples.
The beauty of tungsten is you also can reduce shot size and retain all the benefits of the larger lead or steel, with a lot more shot in the pattern. If you normally use No. 4 shot, switch to No. 6 in a tungsten load for a bigger pattern, more range and more forgiveness.
We can manhandle lead and, to a lesser degree, steel, by simply forcing it through varying choke restrictions until we get it to behave the way we want it to. Not so with tungsten. Tungsten has a mind of its own and doesn’t play by the rules when it comes to choke.
For most tungsten loads have been tested , a modified choke delivers the overall best results in most guns, including over/unders and semi-autos. There have been rare instances where a full choke showed some improvement over a modified — one 12-gauge Spartan o/u and one Franchi semi-auto. But the densest, most uniform patterns with tungsten most commonly come from modified or improved modified chokes.
Tungsten is definitely harder than steel, and as such, there have been a flood of warnings about not shooting it in ultra-high-end guns or through standard chokes. It will leave marks in a choke tube, but as of yet, there are not any adverse effects in a barrel.
The shotguns are tools, not works of art, so a bit of streaking or scratching in the tube doesn’t bother you. If you have concerns, just switch to a hardened choke tube made for tungsten or steel.
Tungsten is great stuff, and it will put a lot more birds in the bag, but for now, it is pricey. For the close-timber or flooded-marsh hunter, steel is still the most economical, but for the big Canadas and snows, this stuff drops them with a thud!
